Our Cary PACKHOPE Experience is approaching fast. Mt. Zion has 40 volunteer positions remaining before we open it up to a waiting list that is already growing. We are partnering with seven other churches that will populate the other volunteer positions. We anticipate over 300 volunteers to help pack meals consisting of dried rice and dried beans on Saturday, July 10.
You can register for either the morning session from 10 AM - 1:30 PM or the afternoon session from 12 PM to 3:30 PM. We will share lunch and fellowship outdoors between sessions at 12 PM and 1:30 PM. Boxed lunch is provided at no cost. Please bring a blanket or your own lawn chairs for lunch.
Please don't wait: Register through Realm or email "packhope AT mtzioncary.org" or call 919-675-2692. We will allow our waitlist to fill our remaining spots by Monday, June 28, and spaces are filling up.
Next Sunday, we'll have a special recognition of our High School graduates and announce the winner of the J Allen Lewis Scholarship. We'll also recognize those who have graduated from college and earned advanced degrees. Join us for this special service.
Happy Father's Day
It’s so easy to talk about dead beat dads because there are so many
examples out in the world. But not all men are bad fathers!
We
have men who are taking responsibility for their children.
We have men who are following God.
We have men who are leading their homes.
We have men who are raising their children.
So we celebrate those good fathers today!
Like Mother's Day, Father's Day can be tough for many. Whether
your father is no longer living, you didn't know your father, your father was not much of a father, or even if you desire to be a father and it has not happened it, I want to encourage you that God has revealed Himself as Father and through faith in Jesus, we have
received the spirit of adoption and can call God, Abba (Daddy).
Even if you've messed up as a dad, remember that you don't have
to be perfect because Jesus was perfect for you. Keep your eyes on Jesus and He'll sanctify you to become a better father.
