New Year's Eve Service, Be Safe during the Holidays, Merry Christmas (Pastoral Emphasis for 12/20)

There will be NO Bible Study for the next couple of weeks to allow everyone to spend time with family.  We'll kick off a new series in Romans on January 6.

Join us for our Virtual New Year's Eve Service. And don't forget to submit your 2-minute video testimony for the service. We want to end the year praising God for what He has done in 2020 instead of just complaining about the year.

Please be safe during the holidays. State health officials reached out to faith leaders in our community to let us know we are seeing an increase in the percent of positive tests and hospitalizations from COVID-19 as the virus continues to spread throughout our state. We must all do our part to stop the spread of this virus.

Remember that the traditions and gatherings that we hold dear provide an opportunity for the virus to spread. We know that gatherings can spread the virus rapidly. I’m sure you’ve heard of the many positive cases that have come from someone attending a small gathering with family and friends, only to later find out that someone unknowingly had COVID-19.

Our families are facing difficult decisions about whether or not we can come together to celebrate this year. During this season for gathering, it is important to remember that if you gather with anyone who does not live in your home, you are at risk and they are too. When we are with people we know, we often let our guard down, but knowing someone doesn’t stop the virus from spreading. And this isn’t about trust because far too often family and friends may have the virus and not even know it yet, resulting in them unintentionally spreading the virus among those they love. But there are steps we can take to keep our loved ones safe. Wear your mask, practice physical distancing, and do virtual gatherings instead of in-person.

I want to wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas!

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

Responding to the Flooding, Christmas in July Food Drive, New Sermon Series (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/13)

Responding to the Flooding All of us are painfully aware of the devastating flooding that struck our nation recently. As of Friday evening, the confirmed death toll in Texas has risen to 129, with at least 150 individuals still missing across the state. Our hearts are heavy, and we grieve for the lives lost and the families enduring unimaginable pain. One of the first things people tend to do is look for someone to blame. Was it the fault of the warning system not being early enough? Was it the fault of the government (state and federal)? Was it the fault of God? If God is so good, why do we suffer with natural disasters like flooding that takes the lives of seemingly innocent people like young children? The reality is that the fault lies with us. Humanity decided to rebel against the Creator God, thereby, ushering in sin and the fall from God's perfect creation. Natural disasters happen because we live in a fallen world ravaged by sin. Natural disasters like these floods are trag...
