Greensboro Tornado, Church Family Meeting, Spring Spruce Up (Pastoral Emphasis for 4/22)

Bereavement: We were with Pastor Maurice Wright on Thursday evening to celebrate his church's 14th anniversary, his mother passed on Friday morning. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Last Sunday evening, a tornado touched down on the eastern side of Greensboro and left a path of destruction that was 33.6 miles long and roughly one-quarter of a mile wide. The tornado, with 135 mph winds, plowed through homes and damaged properties, including three elementary schools that will remain closed for the rest of the year. One man died in the storm when a tree fell on the vehicle he was in. I'm currently looking for a church or ministry in that area that we can partner with to help. Once we find one, we'll at least raise a love offering and look for opportunities to go and serve there.

Our next Church Family Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 29th, following the church service. We have important news to share. All members are asked to stay after the service to attend.

Sis. Lewis announced our next Spring Spruce Up that will be held on Saturday, April 28th, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. All are welcome to come out for part or all of the time to help us be good stewards over our facilities by keeping it clean.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
