Bereavement, Grief & Loss Workshop, Benefit Concert (Pastoral Emphasis for 1/14)

As most of you know, Sis. Virginia Barnett lost her husband, Wallace, on Monday after a brief fight with cancer. The funeral services will be held on tomorrow, January 15, at Mt. Zion at 12:00 pm. There will be a time of visitation from 11:30 am to 12 pm. There will be a viewing today from 2-6 pm. at Lea Funeral Home in Raleigh. Please keep Sis. Barnett and her family in your prayers during their time of loss and bereavement.

Mt. Zion will host a Grief and Loss Workshop on Saturday January 27, from 9:00am until 1:00pm. Please stop by the table, in the foyer, after service to sign up. Refreshments will be served. Contact Deaconess Tasha Smith for more information.

Deacon Cliff Hardaway shared his testimony about his heart surgery, recovery, and the death of his brother. Through it all, God was with him. Deacon Hardaway encouraged us to keep our faith and trust in God who will care for His children.

Youth Sunday, J. Allen Lewis Scholarship Winners, A Word to Our Graduates (Pastoral Emphasis for 6/14)

  Today was Youth Sunday , where our children and youth were leading and participating in the worship service. Our children read scripture, prayed, sang, and ministered a fine arts piece. We heard a message from a youth speaker, Abigail Campbell, who encouraged us to work hard and leave the rest to God.  Celebrating Our Graduates We also recognized and celebrated all of our graduates. Whether you completed high school, earned a college degree, completed graduate studies, or achieved another educational milestone, we rejoice with you and thank God for your hard work and perseverance. We are also grateful for the impact of the Delta Academy and GEM programs , which have been meeting at Mt. Zion.
