Praise Reports, Courage in Times of Trouble, Intercessory Prayer Training (Pastoral Emphasis for 11/1)

As a church family, we have much to rejoice over and praise God for!

  • Congrats to newlyweds, Jacob and Stephanie Julian, who were married last Monday.
  • Congrats to Jae and Kelly on the arrival of their son, Xidan Smith
  • Praise God that Elder Wayne Bullock is home from his back surgery and rehab.
  • Praise God that Bro. Joseph Hancock is home.  Here is Brandi Hancock's testimony about her dad:
“I am elated and beyond excited to know that in 29 days my father has managed with God's strength to survive a massive heart attack! He died for 7 minutes but God said not so, my mother his Wife managed with the strength of God to administer chest compressions until the paramedics arrived, after being shocked 11 times he slipped into a coma and battled pneumonia. He has LESS THAN minimal brain damage! You can't tell me God is not a healer! The wheelchair is policy but Yes! He can walk! By the way he was released 11 days ahead of schedule! Thank you all for your undying support, your prayers, food, rides, love, and encouragement. WHEN God does things He does it well!! So praise with me right now cuz God Has Done It Once More!”

We're following the 52-week reading plan. We are on week 44.  The importance of daily Bible reading is that it builds confidence and trust in God.  As we read about what God has done for His people in the past, we should know that God can do the same today.  He is the same God as He was back in biblical history.

Join us for our next Bible Study series, "Courage in Times of Trouble," a study of 1st and 2nd Peter, beginning Wednesday, November 4th, at 7:00pm. We'll be looking at how we, as Christians, handle suffering, adversity, and calamity in our lives.

On Saturday, 11/14, we're having a training workshop for the Intercessory Prayer team from 9 to 11am in the MPR. All are welcome to attend if you're interested in learning more about the ministry of intercessory prayer.

And congratulations to Deacon Bobby Dunn and Sis. Tracy Downing on getting engaged today!

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
