Pray for Bro. Joe Hancock & UCC, Reunion Choir Concert (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/4)

Please pray for Bro. Joe Hancock who suffered a heart attack last week and is at Wake Med Critical Care in Raleigh.

Also, pray for the families and community in Oregon where a shooter killed multiple people at a community college. Some reports say that the shooter targeted Christians (asking if they were Christians and then shooting them).

We are reading through the Bible as a church family this year. We're following the 52-week reading plan. We are on week 40.

Prayer 2015 is Tuesday, October 6th.  For those who registered, please see Sis. Sandra Broadwater to get your tickets.

Today at 4pm, I preached at Scott's Grove Church and our Choir rendered the music. I preached from Titus 2:11-15 on the topic "The Gospel Changes Everything".  Thanks to all who came out and supported us as we spread the Gospel.

Join us on Wednesday at 7pm for our new Bible Study series on 3 John and Jude.

The Mt. Zion Worship Ministry is hosting a Reunion Choir concert on Saturday, October 17th, at 5:00 PM. Former Mt. Zion choir members, choir directors and musicians will be participating along with presentations from our Fine Arts Ministry. We will also have Praise and Worship by Melissa Oliver. All are invited to attend. Admission is FREE!

As a heads-up: Next Sunday, the sermon will be on the purity of the church and we'll be addressing sexual immorality in a very frank and straightforward manner. Just a warning if you bring any young ears.  As always, children's church will be available for kids 12 and younger.

Dress Code, Spreading the Gospel to Japan, Skits & Pizza (Pastoral Emphasis from 7/26)

Thanks to all who came out to the Church Family Meeting. Our focus is reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even though we don't have a formal dress code at church, I think we have an unspoken one. Our guest may perceive a dress code based on what they see on the stage from leadership. So in order to remove any barriers that might prevent some from visiting us or feeling comfortable in our service, the leadership will dress a little more casual. We will try this out until the end of the year and then evaluate. So don't be surprised when you see me not wearing a tie! I shared the following email that we got via our website to show that we are spreading the Gospel worldwide. To God be the glory! Greetings Mt. Zion Church Family...Today is July 27, 2009 and I would like to share the blessing that I have received from your church. I was talking to my very dear sister, soror, friend Sis Brandi Hancock and she and I were having a heart to heart. I told her that I was

One Life Saved

The Bible declares that all life is valuable. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:13-14). Here's the story of one life saved....
