Bereavements, Share the Twisted Series, Ecuador Mission Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 7/12)

Please pray for a couple of members and their families who are facing bereavements: Sis. Gail Smith (sister passed) and Sis. Barbara Smith, our church secretary (brother passed).

We are reading through the Bible as a church family this year. We're following the 52 week reading plan. We are on week 28.

I hope everyone enjoyed our Twisted sermon series.  If you missed any of it, you can watch it online or order a copy.  And share this series with others.

The series consisted of 6 messages:

  • 5/24, "To Judge or Not to Judge" -Misused verse: "Judge not, that you be not judged" (Matthew 7:1)
  • 5/31, "God Alone Calls things into Existence" -Misused verse: "calling those things which be not as though they were" (Romans 4:17
  • 6/7,  "Not Law Giving but Grace Giving" -Misused verses: "Bring the full tithe into the storehouse.." (Malachi 3:10-11
  • 6/21, "The Transforming Power of the Word" -Misused verse: "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Proverbs 29:18
  • 6/28, "God's Plan for God's People" -Misused verse: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11
  • 7/5, "God Limits Temptations Not Trials" -Misused verse: "God will not put more on us than we can bear" (1 Corinthians 10:13

Bro. Rod Harrison shared a Life Group testimony about the Disciple Riders.  Find a Life Group that works for you.

We prayed for our team that is heading to Ecuador for a mission trip next week. Please continue to pray for Min. Matt Darby,  Bro. Jae Smith,  and Sis. Brittany Hardy that God would use them for His glory to make disciples in Ecuador.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem. For a country that has been ...
