Church Family Meeting - 7/30

Some items from our recent church family meeting...

Please follow the seating instructions from the ushers when you arrive at church. It makes their jobs easier and keeps the seating organized. We appreciate your cooperation.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Please restrict movement during the Call to Discipleship. If you must leave, try to do so right before the sermon ends. We don't want any movement to be a distraction to someone that the Holy Spirit may be touching their hearts to come forward. Also, do not interrupt the move of the Holy Spirit when someone is shouting and praising God by forcing tissue in the person’s hand or fanning them directly in their face. This can also be very distracting.

Be aware that only people in leadership (pastor, elders, deacons, deaconess) officially represents Mt Zion for phone calls and visitations. When other members call you or visit you, they do so on their own good will, but do not necessarily represent Mt Zion (meaning that they were not told by the church to call or visit).

Thank you all for your faithful giving towards the Sacrificial Giving. We have given 62% of the vows made. Praise God! We are right on track.

We are getting close to moving into phase 1 of our new edifice. We expect to get our temporary certificate of occupancy during the first or second week in August. Furnishing should be arriving during August and September. We will be doing orientation and training for ministries during the month of September. It will be extremely important for ministries to attend their scheduled training sessions. Our last service at the current church will be on 9/30 at 4pm. We will have a building dedication and open house at the new church on Saturday, 10/6. And then on 10/7, we will have our first service at the new church. We will be moving to one service on Sundays. The tentative schedule is for Sunday School to start at 8:30am, Praise and Worship to begin at 9:45am, and service starting at 10am.

We also appreciated the great work that our project management team, PMSP (Project Management Service Providers), did on this project. They have been an invaluable asset to us by bringing their expertise, being our representative to our builder, and keeping us under budget.

Please continue to pray for the building project as we move towards the end. Now that the building is nearing completion, we will have a lot of work to do to get ready to "occupy the land". But we look forward to having new facilities that will help us accomplish the vision God has given to us. We DO NOT worship the house, but we worship the God that builds the house!

Mortgage Burning Ceremony (10.6.24)

Today is a day of celebration and gratitude as we come together to witness the burning of our church’s mortgage! This moment represents years of faith, commitment, and sacrificial giving from this congregation. It’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and the dedication of His people. What we are celebrating today is not just the end of a financial obligation, but the beginning of new possibilities for missions, outreach, and service in our community.   ---     Psalm 127:1 says, ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.’   This building has been more than just bricks and mortar; it has been a spiritual home where so many lives have been touched by the gospel. We recognize that while we’ve paid off the mortgage, it is the Lord who has truly built this house, sustaining us through every season.   --- History of the Vision         Though this chapter is closing, the mission God has ...

My Hope Sunday, M:T Not a Competition, Prayer Gathering (Pastoral Emphasis for 10/13)

Today was My Hope Sunday ! We had several invited guests, and my message was from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 on "Looking for a Savior".  Israel wanted a king like the other nations who would “save” them. This is the very definition of a functional savior. A functional savior is anything or anyone a person looks to for ultimate hope, security, identity, or fulfillment in place of God. Whatever you look to to “save” you from your problems, fears, or insecurities is your functional savior. But all of our functional saviors cannot save us. Jesus is the Savior we really need!  Our greatest need in this life and the life to come is to have our sins forgiven by trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today, my wife shared her My Hope Testimony .   (RSS Subscribers: click here to watch the video) Missions:Together’s "Not a Competition" is a powerful missions gathering designed to re-ignite your passion for missions on Saturday, November 2, hosted at The Summit Church in Apex.
