Pastoral Emphasis from 10/8

I've been informed of several job opportunities. This information is posted on our community connection section of our website.

Don’t forget about Franklin Graham’s Hope for Sudan event on Oct. 10th at 7:30pm at Progress Energy Center in Raleigh. Several of our members will be participating in the Mass Choir that will be singing at that event.

The church-wide 40 day fast that will begin on Oct. 11th (Wednesday) and end on Nov. 19th (Commitment Sunday). During this time of fasting you will be asking God want He wants you to give in the Sacrificial Giving Campaign. You may fast as the Lord leads you (for example, you may give up desserts or food from sunrise to sundown).

Any families who are members that didn’t get their Sacrificial Giving Campaign information packet, please make sure you get your packet from the Sacrificial Giving committee. You can
pick up your packet after church services and then from the church office.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem.
