Pastoral Emphasis from 9/24

Homecoming will be celebrated on next Sun., Oct. 1st with one service at 10:15am at the Cary Senior Center located in Bond Park. Sunday School will not be held on this day. We will also have kick-off or new Sacrificial Giving Campaign. Dinner will be served following the service. Everyone is invited to join us!

Due to the off-site service on Oct. 1st, we will have Communion on the second Sunday.

Franklin Graham is coming to Raleigh to share with us the story of the greatest martyrdom of Christians in history. It is happening in the Sudan. Samaritans’ purse is raising funds to rebuild 300 churches in the Sudan. They are training 3000 pastors to replace the 300 pastors that were crucified. This Hope for Sudan event is on Oct 10 at 7:30 pm at the progress energy center for the performing arts. Several of our members will be participating in the event choir.

Everyone is invited to come out and worship with us at our Fall Renewal Services, Wed – Fri at 7:00pm each evening. On Wed., Sept. 27th the guest speaker is Pastor Otis Byrd, First Baptist Church of Holly Springs – Holly Springs , NC; On Thurs, Sept. 28th the guest speaker is Dr. Leonzo D. Lynch, Ebenezer Baptist Church – Charlotte , NC; and, on Fri., Sept. 29th the guest speaker is Pastor Tina Harris, Rehoboth Worship Center – Raleigh , NC.

Minnesota School Shooting, Music Ministry Recruitment, Ark Encounter Trip (Pastoral Emphasis for 8/31)

Minnesota School Shooting Our hearts are heavy over the tragic school and church shooting in Minneapolis at Annunciation Catholic School, where two children lost their lives and many others—some as young as six—are recovering from serious injuries. Sadly, we couldn't get through a full week of traditional school before something like this happens. In this time of profound sorrow, let us hold close in prayer the grieving parents, families, and the entire Annunciation community. Though we cannot fully comprehend their pain, we can stand alongside them in faith, offering compassion, and intercession. May God bring comfort to those who mourn, healing to the wounded, and peace to a terrified community.  Of course, a mass shooting always brings up the issue for stricter gun laws. I agree we do need good legislation and sensible gun laws because it is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Ultimately, that will not solve our problem.
